By the time Anu was 8 years old, his passion for music was evident to all those around him. His first love was the Piano. Never fond of sheet music, he instead chose to compose his own pieces from an early age.

Every second of his practice time was spent crafting melodic ideas that would eventually give him the experience he needed to be a songwriter. Anu passed all his piano classes playing his lessons by ear while pretending to sight-read.

Anu learned how to play the acoustic guitar in his last year of college. He got pointers from friends on campus and started to create his own style. The unconventional chords he discovered became the foundation for his sound and rhythms.

Growing up around Indian music and listening to artists like Stevie Wonder really shapes the way Anu constructs his melodies. The warm tones of the acoustic guitar behind the relaxing melody line of the songs send out a positive and uplifting vibe to the human soul.

Anu brings together a perfect blend of his cultural melodies into Acoustic Rock Music to create songs that sound pretty uh new... and refreshing.

As of September 11th I left Chicago and made my way to Portland, OR with 1 stop in Colorado (to visit friends and see DMB at Red Rocks which never happened but thanks for driving up there Keri), 5 Red Bulls, 2 days, 28 hours of driving (thanks Nirup) and 1 fat speeding ticket (90 in a 75) from the great state of Wyoming. I've quit my job, left my friends and my life behind in the Chi to pursue music. I've started my new life in Portland with about $320.00 dollars to my name and a $50.00 gift card to Chili’s. I hope this will hold me over until my first new record comes out in a few more weeks (God willing...).

I've been blessed with the amount of help I got on this album. It’s produced by Roger Bonds a 25 year music veteran and personal friend to some of the biggest names in the industry from Tom Petty to Russell Simons. Jason Vinluan (from Tripping' Billies, Dave Tamkin and Co. and Abstract Giants) plays killer violins on "The Dance". Paul Mitch front man from Trippin' Billies played a sick 5 string Warwick bass on the song too. Jesse Walters from Malfunktion who just had a gig at Country Thunder this summer did the entire drum work. There’s a lot more credit I’ll be giving out when the album is done

Portland is great. The people here are genuinely nice...it must be the oxygen and the altitude. Chicago, we can learn something from them. Everyone smiles and talks to you like they've known you since High School.  You can't pump your own gas here, someone has to do it for you and get this, there's no sales tax! It's very green and lush. It gets gloomy once in a while but that just makes for good song writing time. No wind! It's a lot different from my rich snobby North Shore and much more laid back which I'm really starting to like. Most people go the speed limit and cops pull you over for going more than 5 miles. Thank God there is a Nordstrom so my "Metrosexual" self is good for the fall and winter season. Although I've been getting comfortable in just my Lacoste polos, one pair of worn out Hollister jeans (which I wash regularly) and my "Ferks" (fake Berks which if worn for more than 12 hours makes my feet smell like fresh sweet vinegar but not as bad as Bart's feet). I haven’t hit the music scene yet because I'm waiting to get the record done first.

Well, that's all for now. I can't watch the Cubs and the Bears here so someone let me know what the scores are.  If you have a drink beside you raise it now..."here's to a-nu beginning and even lower gas prices" Cheers! See you soon Chi-Tzown and Hello Portland.
